The Summit Garage Premier Bowls League swings into action on Monday 14th April. After a highly successful inaugural season the total prize money has been increased from �2,000 to �4,900. Fourteen new teams will be lining up in the newly formed Division One � each chasing those two top places which will open the door to join the Premier Division in 2009.
Everyone has had time to study the unique fixture format for Division one � So who are the teams likely to be challenging for promotion?
Current Shropshire Premier League champions St Georges are most people�s title favourites. Moseley C.C. finished a creditable third in W&W�s first division last season & are sure to fancy their chances. Over in Staffordshire Dudley Dell had a good 2007 finishing fourth in the Dudley Building Society League. Baddesley Colliery are an unknown force but with an excellent home green are going to be tough to beat. And who are the dark horses � Maybe Boldmere, Sutton Park or Kings Norton? It�s all building up to a tough & exciting season.
Meanwhile, we must not forget the Premier Division � Can the champions Greville Arms hang onto the title they played so well to capture last season? Who are the possible challengers for their crown?
Relegation has also been introduced � So can last season�s bottom two Windmill & Langley build on last years experience & avoid the drop?
