Summit League has half the field in St Georges Open Finals Day.

The Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League has about half of the field in the St Georges Open Finals Day. Castlefields boast the most players in the field with five, including last year’s players in the Champion of Champions final. Winner Mike Beer takes on Dan Taylor while runner-up Callum Wraight has a tough first round game against Paul Lamb who played a few games for King George V last season. Paul Williams meet Three Magpies’ Glen Herbert while Leighton Roberts takes on Simon Coupe in a cracker of a tie. Captain Mark Taylor is a former homester and plays Willenhall Nordley’s Scott Simpson, the current holder in its previous guise as the ECC open.  Scott has three fellow team mates in the field, Paul Evans plays reigning All England Champion and Greville Arms’ Darren Plenderleith, Ant Bracken plays Tommy Johnstone and Dan Bodley takes on Steve Morrey. Netherseal’s Dan Petcher plays local hopeful Martin Lloyd, and Short Heath Libs’ Craig Barker will hope to use green knowledge when playing former Champion of Champion Graeme Wilson. Andrew Hughes has played for the Greville Arms over the last few seasons and has a tough tie against former Chadsmoor and St Georges player Pete Farmer.

It promises to be a cracking day of action at St Georges from 10 a.m. There will be hot and cold food on all day while Duncan Reeves will be the bookmaker on site.

The finals will also be streamed on the Facebook group here.

The full finals day draw is here.

Summit Garage and the league would like to wish our players the very best of luck.
