Broomfield win away, Sutton Park stun Stretton

Broomfield impressed in Gameweek 1 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they won away at Langley 9-3. Daniel Chilton led the way for them winning 10 and MVP as they won by just 5 chalks. Cameron Gurdas’ 9 win earned him MVP but was not enough for the home side.  Stretton Anglesey had a tough start to their first campaign in the league as they only got 3 winners at Sutton Park, a 20, 19 and 18! Brian Smith was the 18 winner, while John Dewey got MVP for his 20 win. Daniel Green was best for the home side 13 but Dave Sadler won 15 to get MVP. Baldwin also had a tough start after getting two winners at Woodfield, 18 and 19. Paul Whitcombe was the 18 winner and earned MVP for it. Mick Hill was best for the home side while Claire Pugh got MVP for her 12 win. Netherseal and Willenhall Nordley B were both 7-3 winners over Short Heath Libs and Wrockwardine Wood respectively. The two county players shone at Netherseal as Dan Petcher was best winner for the home side 9, while Craig Barker was best winner for Short Heath 14, also winning MVP. David Garner was MVP for the Derbyshire side. In Willenhall and Wayne Jones was best winner 7 and Mark Hall MVP for his 17 win for Nordley while former Nordley player Martin Williams used his green knowledge to win 10 and earn MVP.
