Gameweek 4 Review – Division 1

All home wins as Great Barr score highest win

It was a week of high home wins in Gameweek 4 of Division 1 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Great Barr scored the highest win of the week with a 9-1 win over Royal Oak. Captain Bob Jones commented on a “solid performance overall nice to see Craig Dugdale back to form (to be best winner and MVP 8) after a poor start to the season, also Phil Wain in his first start on a Monday. Good to get big points in a home game.” Martin Perks was only winner for the visitors 15, to earn MVP too.

The other home results were 8-2 wins to the home side. Castlefields reversed their score they got at Baddesley with Dave Lloyd being MVP and best winner 6, while Tyler Dewis was the same for the away side 18. Ward End Cons had four single figure winners at home to Penn, with captain Marc Franks leading the way for them with his 21-3 win, earning MVP too. Gary Cooper was best winner 6 for the Staffordshire side, but Scott Harries got MVP for winning 16. Moseley CC drew level on points with Windmill with James Seville their best winner 8 while Ron Regan got MVP for his 13 win. Windmill’s best was Glyn Storer 12 which also got him MVP. Chadsmoor beat Three Magpies with captain Kevin Keary leading by example with his 7 win and MVP. For the visitors and Steve Sterland won 2 and Michael Lynch 13, with the latter getting the MVP.

Moseley CC are level with Windmill at the top, with Royal Oak a further point behind. Penn are bottom by 4 points to Baddesley and Ward End Cons, who they have a game in hand with.
