Tanworth In Arden gained a good three winners at Moor Lane as they moved up to third in Gameweek 8 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Stuart Bishop said it was “8 good games on a very pacey green. Over the 2 games we gained a point on Moor Lane. Could of easily had 2 more winners but credit to their bowlers especially Paul Patrick who ran out from 19-12 down (to earn him MVP).” Captain Bob Hickman led the way with his 8 win to help seal the aggregate by 14, while Willie Jeynes was best for the away side, 12.
Tanworth have moved into third, three behind the leaders West Brom FSC. Moor Lane are on the same number of points but are in 5th place.
Great Barr have moved up to third as they beat Windmill 9-1. Skipper Bob Jones commented on “a good all round team performance with no outstanding cards. Best bowler on the night was Glyn Storer but nice to get 9 points which keeps us in contention.” Glyn won 10 to be only winner and MVP, while for the home side Bob himself was best winner 8 and Eric Hall MVP for his 10 win.
Great Barr have moved up to 3rd place, just a place and point behind the Windmill. Kevin Handley lost his first game of the season to leave Glyn Storer the only player unbeaten now from the full amount of games.
