Nick won the Staffordshire Merit on Wombourne by beating Dave East of M&B Cheslyn Hay 19 in the final. But all four, along with Mark Blackmore and Steve Pratt, qualify for the All England.
Another one of our bowlers won a Merit last week, as Carl Fielding from the Greville Arms won the Warwick and Worcester Merit by beating clubmate Ross Dunkley in the final 20 on Bradford Arms. Ross beat Steve Freer 18 and Carl beat George’s Elliot McGuinness 12 in the two Semi Finals. Greg Smith of the George, the Greville Arms’ Peter Dunkley, Dennis Herbert and James Seville of Moseley CC were the losing quarter finalists.
