Gameweek 10 Review – Division Two

Sutton Park Whitewash, Woodfield & Wrockites win well

Sutton Park got their first whitewash of the season as they defeated Langley 10-0 in Gameweek 10 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Chris Sadler commented “Monday was a great result for us. A full house with some great scoring cards. I think the weather has really enhanced the scope of the green, shown in our recent wins! Hopefully we can go again next Monday and get all 8 winners again, we know as a team this will be a challenge but one we want to take on and complete.” Daniel Green was best winner 5, with Rick Green getting MVP for winning 7, both being part of 5 single figure winners. Matt Beaman was MVP for getting 17 for the visitors. Woodfield and Wrockwardine Wood both won 9-1 against Netherseal and Broomfield respectively. Woodfield moved top of the league with their win, Chris Marshman their best winner 5 and captain Nick Newey being MVP for his 12 win. Brian Jordan was the only winner 20, earning him MVP. Wrockwardine Wood are still 17 points off the top two despite a great home win. Stand in skipper Josh Cotton commented “the green was superb and showed in some games. We were unlucky not to get the full house but still a good result. I felt Jon Blakeman played brilliant to be only winner for Broomfield (18 to earn MVP).” Ange Gaut also got MVP in that game, with Ian Delves best winner 5. Baldwin continued their good form with an 8-2 win over Short Heath Libs. Shannon Kernick was best winner and MVP 4, while Gary Bateman was best for the visitors 8, but other winner Kris Johnson was MVP for his 14 win. Stretton Anglesey lost top spot as they got 3 winners at Willenhall Nordley. John Dewey was their best winner 12, with skipper Paul Chamberlain getting MVP for his 20 win. For the home side it was Peter Kull who got MVP and best win for his 21-5.

Woodfield are top by two ahead of Stretton Anglesey. Nick Newey is top on aggregate in the League Averages.
