Moseley CC Invitation Preview

The Moseley Cricket Club Invitation takes place on Saturday with a quality field taking part. Holder Tom Palmer faces fellow youngster and former Warwick & Worcester Merit winner Josh Hale of the Greville Arms, with All England holder and Josh’s team mate Darren Plenderleith just below them and playing another young gun in Lee Kington. Tom’s brother Jon plays Pete Dunkley of the Greville, with Glen Herbert from Three Magpies playing another Greville player in Ash Bracken. One of the ties of the 1st round features Warwick and Worcester Merit winner Carl Fielding of the Grevile and Greg Smith from the George. Greg’s team mates Elliot McGuinness, Ryan & Russ Prosser play Matthew Kelly-Walley, Andy Milson and Alex Harrison respectively. King George V’s Tom Pritchard plays Willenhall Nordley’s Ant Bracken in another cracking tie, with Ross Dunkley against Darren Chatwin just below them in the draw. Other young guns are Three Magpies team mates Gareth Herbert and Adam Kirby, who play against David May and Shane Day respectively. Great Barr’s Ben Harris plays Mark Burdett in another top tie, while Castlefields’ Andy Duckett was a late reserve and has a very tough game against Paul Lamb of King George V which is first on the green. Other ties are Paul’s team mate Chris Bergin playing Stuart Rutter, and the George’s Phil Clinton plays Tanworth In Arden’s Barry Maskell.
