Short Heath, Langley & Baldwin win big, Woodfield keep in touch
There were three 9-1 home wins in Gameweek 12 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League in Division Two. Short Heath got their biggest win of the season after beating Sutton Park. Captain Tony Rhodes commented on a “very good performance on our part but also some good bowling by our opponents. In all a very good contest played in a very good spirit.” Craig Barker and Kris Johnson were best winners 5, with Craig getting the MVP. Only Stephen Danks won for the away side 19 to earn MVP. Langley beat Willenhall Nordley to put a dent in their hopes of catching the top two. Sarah Beaman and Mark Nemedi were best winners 8 but Kris Norgrove was MVP for his 12 win, while for the visitors it was Richard Bate who was their winner 12 to win MVP. Baldwin were the final 9-1 winners to put a dent in another promotion hopeful Wrockwardine Wood. Paul Whitcombe was best winner 5 with Paul Baller MVP for winning 20. For the Wrockites it was Aaron King who was only winner 9 to earn MVP. Broomfield won 7-3 against Netherseal, with Dave Chilton best winner 11 and John Wilson MVP 13 for the home side, while for the away team it was Darren Staley best winner 14 and Matthew Milsom MVP 17. Woodfield kept in touch with Stretton Anglesey at the top of the table after getting three winners there. Nick Newey won the battle of the captains 15 to be best winner, but Chris Marshman got MVP for winning 16. For the home side it was Conor Chamberlain best winner 11 and Edward Wallis 18 for MVP.
Stretton Anglesey lead by 6 points to Woodfield, who are 17 ahead of Wrockwardine Wood in third. Nick Newey still leads the League Averages by a win.
