The top two are at home in Gameweek 16 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they look to pull clear. Leaders the Greville Arms host Dudley Dell, coming off that 9-1 loss there last week, while the George play St Georges, who are in great form after winning their last game at Tanworth in Arden. Willenhall Nordley are in 3rd and know a win at West Brom FSC could put them back in the race, while West Brom FSC still need a win to stop getting dragged into the relegation zone. Tanworth In Arden know they need a big win over King George V to be able to get out of being relegated, while King George know a few winners will allow them to keep in touch with the teams above. M&B Cheslyn Hay are second bottom and face Moor Lane who are 9 points above them. Captain Aaron Tapper comments “we’re looking to pile in as many winners as possible at home tomorrow which then could set up a straight shootout between ourselves and KGV in the last fixture of the season.”
Moseley CC will look to extend their lead at the top of the table as they host Ward End Cons. The visitors though still need to make sure they don”t get dragged into the relegation zone. Moseley are two clear of Great Barr who will be reeling from their home loss last week to Castlefields, and the Fields know backing up that win might go a long way to surviving, and possibly a crack at promotion. Baddesley are at home to Penn, knowing they need a big win or they’ll be as good as down. Penn have this game and then are at home to Royal Oak, knowing two good results will put them back in the mix. Royal Oak face that trip as well as one to Three Magpies who are just below them, and two good away wins will put them back in with a chance. Three Magpies will look to build on that four they got last week to move into the top two. Chadsmoor travel to Windmill, knowing green knowledge could help them get a few winners to help keep in touch with the pack above. Windmill still need home wins to ensure not being dragged into a relegation battle, and an away win next game could also put them back in the mix for promotion.
Stretton Anglesey will seal promotion if they get 3 winners at home to Wrockwardine Wood, which given their home form, should happen. The Wrockites though will be wanting to stay in 3rd place. Second placed Woodfield know a win at Willenhall Nordley could also seal their promotion, but it won’t be an easy task against a team that got four at theirs last week. Captain Bill Pitt comments “at last we found some decent away form and gave Woodfield a good game. The green was a friendly away pace and we took advantage of this and gained 4 winners but we were unable to collect the extra points for the shots. Woodfield will come to our manor looking for points to enable promotion for themselves and we are aware that with the squad they have they will be confident of getting them. We will have to be on our ‘A’ game to overcome their challenge.” Netherseal travel to Langley looking to try and get 3rd place in the league. Langley are bottom and will want a good home win to move off there. Skipper Sarah Beaman comments “after two away games on the bounce we need a solid home performance to boost our confidence. We have been performing really well at home so hopefully we can keep it up against a good Netherseal side.” Sutton Park travel to Baldwin looking to stay in 5th place and the final Prize Money spot. Baldwin though are just 2 points behind so will look to go above them. Short Heath Libs host Broomfield looking to move above them and try and get themselves into the money places, with Broomfield looking to stay above them with at least 4 winners.
