Gameweek 18 Preview – Division Two

Battle for 3rd and Prize Money places on!

The promotion places may have already been sorted but the battle for 3rd and the other two remaining prize money places are up for grabs. Only 3 points separate 3rd from 8th, although Baldwin in 8th may find it very difficult to move up given they visit Champions Stretton Anglesey, only getting 2 points at home. Netherseal are in pole position as they sit in 3rd place, a point ahead of the rest. They take on Sutton Park, who are one of those just a point behind, knowing a 10-0 win would guarantee staying in that place. But Sutton Park with a win themselves could leapfrog those teams above. Wrockwardine Wood are in joint 4th but face a tough test in hosting already promoted Woodfield. Captain Martin Gaut though admits “it’s going to be a struggle on Monday. We’re playing a good Woodfield side who have a little bit of knowledge of our green on the back of a poor run of form. To finish 3rd I believe we need a 10-0. Unlikely with us also being a few short due to the Isle of Man. We’ll give it a good go and hope we finish in the prize money. I’m pleased with our relatively solid season and hopefully we can build on it next year!” Willenhall Nordley are also level with the Wrockites and host Broomfield, who will be looking to make sure they finish off bottom spot. Nordley have been struggling at home recently though, so need to get their act together to make sure they finish in the prize money. Short Heath Libs have been the form team of the second half, and host bottom side Langley knowing a big win could make them finish in the top 5, an unlikely achievement when they were rock bottom a month or so ago. Langley will try and get as many points as they can to try and get off bottom spot, they are 4 points off at the moment.
