Good luck to our eight at the Champs!

The Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League makes up a quarter of the 32 strong field at the Champion of Champions. Greg Smith of the George will be looking to get hold of one of the big prizes he’s never won, and plays Gary Owen, who won the West Brom CCF Open. Castlefields’ Callum Wraight will aim to go one better than last season and reclaim the title he won in 2015 as he plays Martin Gilpin in the first game on the green. Dudley Dell’s Nick Wyer will be making his debut and plays Matthew Worden of Wales, who impressed so much in the Autumn Waterloo this week. Autumn Waterloo winner Jon Palmer of Castlefields takes on Craig Podmore, with fellow youngster Ryan Prosser of the George playing Ian Inman. Greville Arms’ Carl Fielding has a very tough tie against Simon Coupe, who won the Charlie Tattersall Memorial yesterday on the same green, in a repeat of their game in the Brighouse Classic last week. His team mate Darren Plenderleith is against Craig Gant.

The Summit Garage and the league would like to wish all our players the best of luck.
