The finals day of the Ray Leath Memorial takes place at 3 today at Willenhall Nordley with a quality field chasing the first prize. Greg Smith of the George is favourite to add to his previous crowns and takes on Jamie Webb first of all. Callum Wraight from Castlefields is just above him in the draw but has a tough clash with Lee Kington first up with plenty of bowls sure to be run in! Former All England winner Darren Plenderleith of the Greville Arms has an interesting game against St Georges’ Clay Flattley, while young gun Jamie King from Wrockwardine Wood has a very tough game against King George V’s Paul Lamb. Two M&B Cheslyn Hay team mates collide as Gordon Hawkins plays Jack Hill, while two Shropshire county players and team mates at Hanwood in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League, Wayne Phillips and Colin Beaman, who also plays for St Georges, take each other on. Keith Wall from Castlefields is another Shropshire player in the field, and is against youngster Jack Whitehead of Moor Lane. The Greville Arms’ Josh Hale plays James Seville of Moseley CC in the last 1st round game.
The draw and odds are here.
