Two of our bowlers reach Coors Meole Open Final

We had two bowlers reach the final of the Coors Meole Brace Open as Castlefields’ Callum Wraight beat Martin Gaut of Wrockwardine Wood 16. It gives Callum an early Champion of Champions place, and adds to his 2012 and 2018 triumphs in this competition. Callum had a relatively easy passage through the competition, having a walkover against Dave Rhodes from Penn, then beating three of our players, Steve Bodley of Willenhall Nordley 6, The George’s Sam Millward 13 and Paul Evans of Willenhall Nordley 10. Martin had got past Lee Woodfield of Moor Lane and Castlefields’ Adam Jones 17, then St Georges Open winner Ryan Prosser of the George 15 and Josh Mordue 16. Ryan had defeated Geraint Booth 11 and Matthew Allen 12. Paul Evans had enjoyed a great run after beating Clay Flattley of St Georges 10, Daniel Nixon 18 and Craig Gant 12. Sam Millward had got past Nathan Dawes from Dudley Dell 11 and Kevan Shaw 16, while Steve Bodley beat James Martin 18 first game. Former home player Colin Beaman of St Georges reached the Quarter Finals after defeating John Jones 9 and Gareth Hughes 13, before losing out to Josh Mordue 13. Adam Jones had beaten Tom Vickers first round 19.

Well done to both players on their great run, and to Callum for winning the competition.
