Reigning champion Callum Wraight of Castlefields will be expected to go far and plays Johnny Sneddon first game. There are former other winners in the field, Chris Brown takes on Ben Dixon of Penn, Gordon Hawkins of M&B Cheslyn Hay has Ant Bracken from Willenhall Nordley, Peter Farmer plays Stuart Rutter and Tommy Johnstone has late call up Darrell Handley of the Windmill. Scott Simpson has won the ECC Open down the road and the Willenhall Nordley man plays David May. Former All England winner Darren Plenderleith of the Greville Arms has Staffordshire Merit winner Nick Wyer from Dudley Dell, while the person he beat in that 2017 final, Ross Meese, has Damian Morrison.
