Baddesley & Nordley take control
Baddesley and Willenhall Nordley have took control of Division Two with two away wins in Gameweek 7 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Baddesley won 10-2 at Broomfield to halt the home side’s good start to the season. Michael Lynch was best winner 7 with George Chapman MVP for his 19 win. Joe Wilson was MVP and best winner for the home side 14. Willenhall Nordley finally earned an away win after a few near misses. Captain Bill Pitt was “really pleased with our performance on a tremendous green considering the bad weather we were having. To be fair, a lot of the tricks in the green were missing however fine performances by our first 4 put us 3-1 up and +11 shots. Short Heath came back at us strongly in the back 4 but a great win from Micheal Thomas (best winner and MVP 9) eased the pressure enabling us to get the shots we needed for the overall win.” Des Parsons was best winner and MVP 10 for the home side. Baldwin enjoyed a 9-1 win over Heath Hayes with Roger Hill best winner 9 and Rod Monnington MVP 13. Only winner for the away side was Geoff Wylde 14, which earned him MVP. Langley defeated Sutton Park 7-3. Dean Buttery was MVP and best winner for them 10 with Dave Sadler the same for the visitors 11.
Baddesley are two clear of Willenhall Nordley, and another 8 clear of Langley. Ben Lynch is now above Martin Gaut by 1 chalk as Martin didn’t play, but Martin still leads the Mark Taylor Support Ltd. MVPs on 4.
