Gameweek 10 Review – Division Two

Heath Hayes find feet, Broomfield win well

Heath Hayes finally found their feet in the league with a 10-2 win at Langley in Gameweek 10 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Steve Wright said “it was a great win set up by Geoff Wylde winning 21-2 (to be best winner and MVP) along with the next 5 bowlers all winning. Bill Staite was 10-0 and 19-9 down before winning 19. Everyone stepped up to the plate on what was a great night for us.” Mark Nemedi was best winner and MVP for Langley 10. Broomfield recorded an 8-2 win over Sutton Park. Skipper Darren Griffiths commented on a “great result for us on Monday with having 6 winners considering we were out played the week before. Looking forward to another home game this week against Willenhall Nordley.” Dave Chilton was best winner and MVP 5, while David Sadler was the same for the visitors 16. Baddesley defeated Baldwin 7-3 to go clear at the top. The two Lynch’s, Mike and Ben, were best winners for them 10, but Tyler Dewis got MVP for winning 12. For Baldwin captain Jim Kernick led the way 13 with Jack Newsome MVP 19. Short Heath Libs drew at Wrockwardine Wood but face an investigation into their best winner 21-10 being an unregistered player. Aimee Allcock was their MVP 15. The home side were thankful for Helen Clee being best winner and MVP 5.

Baddesley are now 16 points clear of Willenhall Nordley, who are 2 ahead of Sutton Park having played 2 games less. Michael & Ben Lynch and Martin Gaut are all on 8 wins, while 5 players are on 4 MVPs in the race for the Mark Taylor Support Ltd. award.
