Gameweek 12

Nordley whitewash, Short Heath win away

Willenhall Nordley secured a whitewash in Division Two of Gameweek 12 of Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they look to chase the league leaders Baddesley. They beat Broomfield, and captain Bill Pitt was “really pleased with our performance which resulted in a full house win against Broomfield. Excellent performances from all 8 to obtain a 70+ shot winning margin. We are currently playing really well and also pleased to be still in the hunt for the league title but we realise that we are only as good as our next game”. Mark Clayton was best winner 6 with Mark Hall MVP for winning 11. Joe Wilson was MVP for the visitors 17. Short Heath are still trying to chase Nordley for promotion, and gave their chances a boost with a 9-3 win at Heath Hayes. Captain Tony Rhodes says it was “a very good result on a difficult surface. Some good bowling from both teams.” Lee Hulse was best winner and MVP 6 while Darren Gittings and Anton Ashford were best winners 16 for the home side, the former gaining the MVP award. Baldwin continued their fine form winning 8-2 over Sutton Park. Lee Harvey was best winner and MVP 4, while Dave Sadler was the same for the away side with his 11 win.
