We had two winners of competitions today as our players didn’t waste any time in making their mark on a much reduced competition circuit this season. Callum Wraight of Castlefields won the Gambart Baines finals after being in Scarborough all week. He beat Ira Jeffers 8 in the final, after recovering from being behind in his Semi Final to defeat Paul Mottram 18. He also win 8 in the Quarter Finals versus Ken Wale.
Scott Simpson from Willenhall Nordley won the Stockingford Open after beating Baddesley Colliery’s Jordie Baddeley 16 in the final. He had defeated Ryan Prosser of the George 16 in the Semi Final, Harry Chapman from Baddesley 14 in the Quarter Final and Mark Burdett 11 in the last 16. Jordie had beaten Castlefields’ Jon Palmer 15 in the Semi Finals, Tony Eades 16 and Alfie Knight 15. Jon had beat Mark Denman 14 and Liam Dennis of Baddesley 9, with Liam having defeated Darren Day 14 first round. Ryan Prosser had got past Pete Varney 18 and Leigh Burdett 14, while Harry Chapman had a fine 20 win over Paul Lamb first game.
The results of the Stockingford Open are here.
Well done to Callum and Scott on their successes.
