We didn’t realise the game was being updated on such a regular basis, thanks Paul for the communication!! We were fortunate to be victorious tonight against a Tonge side full of stars. But maybe our team spirit got us the result. Whilst we were rolling up during our practice we could here from the sidelines “who are these” ” I don’t no any of these only Bracken”. Well maybe we aren’t household names, but we can play the game, and when we do play we represent our club with pride and passion, which can be worth shots on its own. I’m not a comp bowler, this game takes enough of my time playing for my team, I have a young family that i want to spend time with, not travelling up and down the M6 trying to win a couple of hundred quid, I can honestly say, I had more satisfaction collecting that trophy tonight than I would winning The All England, the Waterloo or the Isle of Man. I couldn’t care a monkeys about individual bowling, I can’t remember the last comp I entered, so does that make you a bad bowler?? Playing for your team should always take priority over any pot or cheque hunting but unfortunately i think I am now massively in the minority, which I feel is sad.
Well done tonight the Greville Arms, the Summit League and most of all team spirit!!!
Congratulations to the Greville Arms on an excellent team performance against one of the countries top teams.
The standard of bowling on such a difficult green as Florence and in artic conditions was first class. It was a great team effort but i must add special praise to Wayne Curran & Richard Dandy who were outstanding. In fact the whole team excelled !!!.
I must add a big thank you to the managment of the Gooddies League for their assistance in getting the game on plus Florence for their hospitality – and good food.
To win this “Premier League Challenge” game is a great honour for both the Greville Arms & the Summit Garage League.
p.s. Can’t believe i was supporting a team of Brummies….
