We had a super seven qualify for the Coors Meole Brace Open this weekend. Nathan Dawes of Dudley Dell continued his fine form as he beat Josh Cotton 13, Pete Thomas 13 and then the George’s Greg Smith. Paul Evans of Willenhall Nordley got through after beating Ed Wallis 6, Mike Leach 14 and Paul Leah 16. St Georges’ Colin Beaman used his green experience to get through, after beating Nigel Ferrington 8, Dudley Dell’s Steve Shaw 10 and Penn’s Scott Harries 19. John Dewey of Stretton Anglesey beat Martyn Higgins 9, Great Barr’s Mick Lynch 13 and Chris Stretch 14.

On Sunday and Moor Lane player Lee Woodfield got through after beating Wrockwardine Wood’s Jamie King 18, Kerry Morris 18 and Steve Downs 19. Wrockwardine Wood captain Martin Gaut qualified after defeating Tony Wall 5, Ivan Smout 15 and Mark Winnington 12. Another St Georges player got through as Clay Flattley got past Joe Tomkinson 8, Ian Smith 6 and Adam Walker of Moor Lane 13. Willenhall Nordley’s Steve Bodley had some fine wins over Paul Fellows 13, Graham Bennett 19 and Tommy Johnstone 19.

Moor Lane’s Bob Hickman lost in the qualifier 19 to Mark Shore and Darren Plenderleith of the Greville Arms got 15 off Kevan Shaw.
