Gameweek 11 Review – Division Two

Baldwin earn first ever away win, others win 8-2

Baldwin earned their first every away win in Gameweek 11 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They won at Sutton Park 8-4, who haven’t lost a home game themselves for two seasons. Captain Jim Baldwin said “it was a solid team performance and nice to pick up our first away win. We have knocked on the door a couple of times without getting over the line so it was pleasing just to get there. We are a little more familiar with the green having played Sutton Park in Warwick and Worcester matches so that’s an obvious help opposed to getting to most greens completely blind. Hopefully we can put in a decent home performance this Monday and move up the table a place or two.” Lee Harvey was their best winner 11 with Paul Baller MVP 18. For the home side Paul Copson was best winner 13 and Keith Wallis MVP 16.

The other three games ended 8-2 to the home side. Short Heath Libs defeated Heath Hayes with captain Tony Rhodes leading by example winning 7 to be best winner and MVP. He said it was “a good result against Heath Hayes with some good individual performances played in a good spirit. Pleased with the result.” Allan Parsons won 14 and Darren Gittings 20 for the away side, Darren getting the MVP. Wrockwardine Wood beat Langley with Josh Cotton best winner and MVP 21-7. For the visitors it was Mark Nemedi who was best winner 15 and Kris Norgrove MVP 18. Broomfield had a great win over Willenhall Nordley as John Wilson was best winner 8 and Jon Blakeman MVP 14. For the away side it was Mick Ledwidge who won 11 and Ian Whitehouse 18, with the latter getting MVP.

Baddesley lead Short Heath Libs by 11 and Willenhall Nordley and Sutton Park by another 4. There is no chance at the top of the League Averages as none of the three players in 8 wins played, and 5 players have 4 MVPs for the Mark Taylor Support Ltd. award.
