Ray Leath Memorial Open 1st Weekend Preview & Draws

The 1st weekend of the Ray Leath Memorial Open takes place today with 32 players chasing the 8 qualifying spaces. In the morning and Glyn Storer of the Windmill plays Colin Beaman from St Georges in one of the ties of the session, the other being Chris Ward of M&B Cheslyn Hay and Josh Hale from the Greville Arms. Tom Roden and James Bracken of the Greville Arms is a clash of the young guns, with James’ brother Ash taking on Gareth Coates from Yorkshire.

Into the afternoon and the Autumn Waterloo champion Jon Palmer plays Baddesley’s Ben Lynch. Dan Petcher from Netherseal reached the final of the Phil Wright memorial on Monday, and has Dave Clarke of Tanworth in Arden. Two other players who have won big competitions this season is the Windmill’s Darrell Handley and Darren Plendereith of North Midlands. Former Champion of Champion Mike Beer plays the George’s Mick McGuinness. Aaron Tapper of M&B Cheslyn Hay and John Dewey of Stretton Anglesey promises to be another good clash.
