Darren Plenderleith of the Greville Arms won the 2019 Wrockwardine Wood Open in some style after beating previous winner Pete Farmer 7 in the final. He had got past Rich Lawson 16 in his Semi Final, while Pete was getting past Clay Flattley 6. Darren had beaten Paul Williams of Castlefields in the Quarter Finals 12, with Pete defeating Nick Wyer from Dudley Dell 17, Rich beating Chris Worthington and Clay ending the good run of Curtis Metcalfe 16. Darren had earlier beaten Scott Moseley 7, Jamie Brookes 5 and Russ Prosser of the George 14.
The night before Darren had also won the Billy Bennett Memorial for a fourth time. He beat John Brown 12 in the Final after having his closest shave in the Semi Final against Chris Cooke 17. Earlier he got past Kyle Chapman 13 and Larry Wells 7.
