Please see below some very sad news from our treasurer Lynn Pritchatt about one of our founder clubs in Chadsmoor, who have also won our league. We wish all their members the very best in finding a new club as well as our treasurer in finding a new club for the two Invitation Classics she runs. We also thank Chadsmoor for their service to our league over the years and showcasing the very best of our league.
CHADSMOOR PROGRESSIVE WMC
On behalf of Chadsmoor Progressive BC, I wanted people to hear this from me personally. With effect from Monday 11th November, Chadsmoor Progressive WMC is under new ownership. The new owner has made the decision to convert the bowling green into a Beer Garden. Despite repeated and the best possible effort on the part of key members of the bowling club, the decision is made.
I have no words to convey my deep sadness and feeling of loss all over again. On a personal note Chadsmoor Progressive BC has been a huge part of the Evans family for over 60 years. To say I am completely devastated is an understatement. The heart and soul of the bowling club was ripped out in April 2016.
Chadsmoor is one of the most iconic venues in our sport and I never ever imagined this day would come.
Please be advised that the Easter Monday Invitation Classic which bears Les and Mel’s name and The George Pritchatt Memorial Ladies Classic tournaments WILL be going ahead as planned for 2020 and beyond. I made a promise to both Mel and my lovely Dad that as long as I have breath in my body the tournaments will run. So they shall. Everything will remain the same. Both tournaments will be staged at a different Cannock venue. I commenced work last night on sourcing the best venue(s) possible.
