The George retained the Premier Division title but only just! They started with a whitewash over Tanworth in Arden, and then got 4 winners at Willenhall Nordley. They did bounce back with a home win over Stretton Anglesey, but with 3 games having been rearranged in July and August, it meant they were only just above the relegation zone with three games in hand! An away draw at West Brom FSC was followed by just 2 winners at rivals the Greville Arms. But a home win over Moseley CC, and 4 winners at Atherstone Cons put them near the top again. A 7-3 win over the Greville Arms meant they were only just behind their rivals by 4 points with an away game at Moseley in hand. 4 winners there meant it was level going into the last game, and the George did all they could with a 10-0 win over West Brom FSC. But the Greville could only manage a 9-3 win at M&B Cheslyn Hay, meaning the George won the league by one!
