Lead maintained, West Brom whitewash
Greville Arms’ lead was maintained in week 17 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They beat Baldwin 7-3, Ryan Prosser best winner 7 and Steve Wallace MVP for winning 8. For the visitors it was Jamie Hunter best winner 10 and Natty Tonks MVP for winning 15. They remain two clear as The George also won 7-3 against Willenhall Nordley, Phil Clinton leading the way 21-3 to earn MVP. For Nordley it was Mark Hall MVP and best winner 12. Triplex lost ground though with just 3 winners away at Boldmere Sports & Social. Chris Bergin was their best winner and MVP 13, with home captain Adam Weaver best winner and MVP 8. Tanworth in Arden closed the gap on Moseley CC with a 7-3 victory which gives them an outside change of avoiding relegation. Willie Jeynes was best winner 4 and Mark Williams their MVP for winning 15. Adam Kirby was best for Moseley 13 with Nick Peters MVP for winning 20. West Brom FSC whitewashed Stretton Anglesey 10-0 to bounce back from their last two disappointing results. Mike Hill was best winner 5 and Andy Saunders MVP for winning 9. Ian Brown got MVP for Stretton for getting 15.
The Greville Arms are two ahead of The George and another four ahead of Triplex. Baldwin are one behind Tanworth in Arden and another 7 behind Moseley CC. Elliot McGuinness has won the League Averages being on 15 wins out of 15. James Seville and Andy Saunders are both on 5 MVPs.
