Week 11 Preview – Premier Division & Week 9 Preview – Division One

Premier Division

Bottom placed West Brom FSC know they need to pick up some good home wins to move away from that spot in week 11 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They host the Baldwin this week, who will be looking to bounce back after being second before two defeats by the league leaders the Greville Arms. M&B Cheslyn Hay are just above them and face a tough trip to 2nd placed Stretton Anglesey, who will be looking for a good win to try and have any chance of hauling in the league leaders. The Greville are at home to Triplex, who come off a good home win last week and are now 4th. Moseley CC are only just above the relegation zone, and host the George who are one point below them and need the points too. Captain Grant Soller says “we welcome a slightly weaker George team from years gone by, but we won’t be taking anything for granted as the players all know our green well. We have a full squad to pick from and hope to have a few down supporting on what should be a sunny night.” Willenhall Nordley had a great home win last week and will look for the same against the Windmill who currently sit in 3rd place.

Division One

Tanworth in Arden who will be looking to bounce back from just one winner last week in week 9 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they host the Langley, who have scored 2 in their three away games so far. Woodfield are just two points behind, and host league leaders Boldmere Sports & Social. Captain Nick Newey says it is “an interesting clash at Woodfield tomorrow, as we welcome top of the table Boldmere Sports. The Woodfield green was at ferocious speed on Saturday, and if the rain stays off It could be a long night. I would think most of the Boldmere lads will have played the green before, but not at the projected speed. Woodfield are just 7 points behind, so there is quite a bit at stake.” Penn take on Victoria Park who are six ahead of them but they do have a game in hand. Skipper Darrell Handley says “We take on the park tomorrow who won on here last year on shots. They are a good set of lads and ladies and enjoy their company. We are obviously aiming to win by as many as possible but won’t underestimate our opponents.

Week 9 Fixtures:
