Gameweek 15 Preview

Premier Division

Willenhall Nordley will look to take advantage of the top two being away in Gameweek 15 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They host West Brom FSC, who will be reeling after coming off getting a whitewash away last game at Moor Lane. The Greville go to Dudley Dell, hoping to repeat the famous win when they won the league there back in 2015. The Dell though are playing well now, but just need to be wary of being dragged into the relegation fight, they are only 6 points above the bottom two. A good home win though and they can still get 4th. George go to St Georges who after their home defeat against Nordley then won at Tanworth In Arden to move 4th. The George though have plenty of knowledge of the green and will be looking for a good result to claw back their 3 point deficit to the Greville. Moor Lane against M&B Cheslyn Hay is a relegation clash with Moor Lane three points above their visitors. Both teams know it is crunch time, and gaining points over their rivals in the two matches could be the difference between staying up and going down. King George V host Tanworth in another big clash. King George are back in the bottom two despite some good wins lately and know a big home win could see off Tanworth, who are 6 behind them. Tanworth will need an away win or two big home wins to be able to stay up now after that shock home loss last week.

Division One

Royal Oak will look to bounce back after their two defeats against the Royal Oak but won’t find it easy against Three Magpies, who are eyeing up their own promotion push. Great Barr host Castlefields, and will look to go top as leaders Moseley CC are away. But Castlefields need the points for their quest to avoid relegation, and got a good four last away game at Three Magpies. Moseley travel to Ward End Cons looking to push on from their 18 points they gained against Royal Oak. But Ward End Cons won 9-1 last home game, and will be looking to get into the Prize Money spots. Penn, with a home game in hand, could still catch the top two, but know a big home win over Baddesley is a must. Baddesley also know they must get some good results to be able to move away from trouble. Chadsmoor are bottom and will know they will have to beat a Windmill side that will know their green well. Windmill also know they could win there with their green knowledge, and would put them back in the promotion hunt. Spokesman Darrell Handley said “the game is a nice away game for us on a Monday travelling wise. Like any other week we will try and get as many points as possible.”

Division Two

Wrockwardine Wood will look to keep their slim hopes of the top two alive by beating leaders Stretton Anglesey at home. Stretton won’t have much knowledge of the green apart from maybe playing in the competition, so Wrockwardine could take advantage. Woodfield will look to exploit and ensure there are no slip ups with their 17 point advantage over Wrockwardine in 3rd as they host Willenhall Nordley. Nordley will be looking to make up their two poor results against Short Heath Libs and make sure they get some prize money. Netherseal host Langley also looking to stay in the prize money. Captain James Southern comments “It has been a really mixed season for us as a team, when we have been able to get our full strength side out we have had some decent home results, unfortunately that hasn’t always been the case and hence we aren’t challenging Woodfield A or Stretton Anglesey. However, we are looking to finish the season in the top 4 and set ourselves up, ready for a promotion push next season.” Langley have struggled away from home and find themselves bottom at moment. Broomfield host Short Heath Libs with both teams coming off good home wins last time round, and looking for a good end to the season to be able to get in the prize money. Baldwin find themselves 5th after a good run of results, and would love to stay there in their debut season. They travel to Sutton Park who are unbeaten at home and will be after some prize money themselves.
