Greville hammer Nordley, Stretton and West Brom win well
The Greville hammered Willenhall Nordley in weeek 10 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League Premier Division as they showed they are still very much in the title race. Captain Josh Hale commented on “a superb result for my lads against a very good Nordley side, we’ve been crying out for a home result like this and hopefully we can build from this now.” Best winner were Ross Dunkley and Liam Lowery 9, with Ross getting MVP. It was former homester Ant Bracken who won for Nordley 4 to get MVP. Nordley will have a chance to bounce back with a home game against Stretton Anglesey tonight, but Stretton go into it on the back of a good 8-2 win over Moor Lane. Skipper Paul Chamberlain says it was a “satisfactory home win last night. Green holding and their 2 winners played well to be fair. Looking forward to our first trip in the top league to Willenhall Nordley. One or two regular players out but still a decent side so hoping to be competitive.” Best winner and MVP was Conor Chamberlain 6, with Bob Hickman being the same 14 for the visitors. West Brom FSC also won 8-2 against M&B Cheslyn Hay, with Louis Jones best winner 10 and Simon Homer MVP 11. Captain Aaron Tapper won 11 for the away side, but Steve Davis got MVP for winning 18. Moseley CC will be happy with their 3 winners at Tanworth in Arden. Scott Follis was best winner 7 and James Seville MVP for winning 12, whilst for the hosts it was Tom Pritchard who was best winner and MVP winning 9.
The George lead the Greville by 4 points, but have played a game less, with Nordley a further 4 behind. M&B Cheslyn Hay are 5 behind Moor Lane at the bottom. There are 4 players on 7 wins now, with Scott Simpson still leading them.
