Baddesley whitewash, Baldwin & Mill have good home wins
Baddesley earned another home whitewash in week 11 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League Division One. They beat Hamstead with Harry Chapman best winner 4 and Adrian Hughes MVP for winning 9. For the visitors it was James Parkes who got MVP for getting 18. Windmill, in 2nd, got a good 8-2 win over Victoria Park as Daniel Green was best winner 8 and Dave Hayward MVP 12. Ed Finnemore and Pete Cookson were the winners for the Park 9 and 14 respectively, with the latter gaining MVP. 3rd placed Baldwin gained a point on the Mill with a 9-1 win over Wrockwardine Wood. Captain James Kernick and John Beet were best winners 5, with James gaining MVP. The winner for the Wrockites was Tony Garmson 16 to earn him MVP.
Belmont Services got 3 winners at Woodfield, losing out by just 6 chalks. Captain Brian Jordan said “The Woodfield green was a pleasure to play on and Martin Hicks was 15-5 up and his opponent came back game down twice to win and claim the aggregate. It is a great set up with nice lads and some tidy bowling from winners on both sides!” Scott Taylor earned MVP for that come back to win 20. Joe Dicken was best winner 8, the same score Darren Staley won by for Belmont. MVP went to Colin Belcher who won 20. On Tuesday and they scored an 8-2 win over Triplex. Brian commented “the green was extremely quick and hard. Triplex played it well to lose by only 15 and could have pinched another end as my game with Steve Darling was tidy and if honest Steve probably could of nicked it. Phil Clarke played well to hang on in the end, They are a great bunch of lads who stayed for a few beers as well. We look forward to away game again some up and down bowls but green played big part in that.” Richard Golby was best winner 14 and Brian himself MVP for winning 19, with his opponent Steve getting MVP too. Chris Baker and Alan Darling were best winners 18 for the visitors. Triplex had won 7-3 the night before over Langley with Paul Baller was best winner and MVP 3. For Langley it was Kris Norgrove who was best winner and MVP 9.
Baddesley are 17 ahead of Windmill, who are another 12 ahead of Baldwin. Michael Lynch and Jordie Baddeley are still 100%.
