Week 14 Preview – Premier Division & Week 12 Preview – Division One

Premier Division

Windmill have the unenviable task of trying to stop the league leaders the Greville Arms in week 14 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Spokesman Dave Hayward says “tonight’s match will be very pivotal in where we finish as they table has closed up and with 5 points between 5th and 10th a win against the top side in the league is very much needed to keep us out of the relegation zone. The weather predicted isn’t going to be in our favour but that’s out of our control.” M&B Cheslyn Hay are bottom and host a Moseley CC side looking for their highest finish in the league. Triplex are level with M&B and take on Stretton Anglesey who are currently in 2nd, and will have had some experience of the green in a Super Cup tie a few weeks ago. The George still a point above the drop zone, and host a West Brom FSC side just four points above them in a big game for both teams. Baldwin host Willenhall Nordley knowing that they need to be careful not to be dragged into trouble. Nordley are looking for a top three finish and a win at Baldwin would be massive for that.

Week 14 Fixtures:

Baldwin v Willenhall Nordley

M&B Cheslyn Hay v Moseley CC

The George v West Brom FSC

Triplex v Stretton Anglesey

Windmill v Greville Arms

Division One

Woodfield travel to Hamstead knowing that an away win is needed in week 12 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League if they are able to catch Tanworth in Arden in 2nd. Hamstead have been struggling of late, but captain Craig Dugdale is looking for a reaction. “We have to bounce back after last week’s disappointing result. It will be a tough game (as always) against a Woodfield side pushing for that second promotion spot whilst we are looking to move off the bottom in what has been a poor season for us in the Summit. However, with 2 home games out of our last 3 games we must win these to have  a chance of avoiding the wooden spoon.” Tanworth host a Penn side looking for a big home win to keep ahead in 2nd, with Penn just playing for third place and the last prize money spot. Langley take on Victoria Park looking to finish as high up as they can, the Park could potentially get 3rd place with their game in hand on everyone.

Week 12 Fixtures:

Hamstead v Woodfield

Tanworth in Arden v Penn

Langley v Victoria Park
