Greville hit form, The George with big win
The Champions the Greville Arms have finally found some form in week 11 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They beat league leaders Triplex 9-1 to please captain Russ Prosser. “Great result Monday beating top of the table Triplex at home with 7 winners,
Focus now moves to our away game with them next week, let’s hope our season’s finally started on a Monday.” Best winner for them was Ryan Prosser 6 with Nathan Caines MVP for winning 8. For the league leaders it was Daniel Baller their winner to earn MVP. The George pulled off a great 10-2 win at Boldmere Sports & Social. Skipper Elliot McGuinness says it was “a really good win which allows us to look towards the top of the league rather than the bottom, hopefully we can build some momentum and have a good finish to the season.” Best winner and MVP for them was Reece Farr 7, while for the hosts it was Michael and Ben Lynch who won 11 and 16 respectively, Ben getting MVP. Stretton Anglesey and West Brom FSC closed the gap to the leaders with 8-2 wins over Moseley CC and Willenhall Nordley respectively. For Stretton it was Matt Milsom best winner 9 and Rikki Higgs MVP for winning 10. James Seville was best winner and MVP for Moseley 10. At West Brom Chris Watts and Jordyn Hughes best winners 11, with the latter gaining MVP. Kevin Hocknull was best winner 9 for Nordley, but Dave Semper got MVP for winning 12. The other game saw Baldwin beat Tanworth in Arden 8-2. Shannon Kernick was best winner and MVP 7 for the home side, and Tim Mole was best winner and MVP for the away side by the same score.
Triplex are level with West Brom FSC and another 4 ahead of Stretton Anglesey. Tanworth in Arden are 8 behind Baldwin, who are another 2 adrift of Moseley CC. Elliot McGuinness is on 10 wins out of 10, and Rikki Higgs on 4 MVPs.
