The defending champions Greville Arms look to reel in league leaders Triplex as they host them in week 11 of the Premier Division in the Staffordshire Summit Garage Premier Bowls League. Captain Russ Prosser says “It’s a big couple of weeks for us against top of the table Triplex, they’ll be 2 competitive games for sure, let’s hope we can get our season started.” West Brom FSC and Stretton Anglesey are 2nd and 3rd and both at home as they look to catch Triplex. They host Willenhall Nordley and Moseley CC respectively, with both of those teams still not certain of staying up yet. The bottom two meet as Baldwin meet Tanworth in Arden with both teams coming off disappointing results last week, and know a good result is needed over these two games. Boldmere Sports & Social Club come off a fine win at Tanworth last week and face The George who are 4 points behind them in 5th, both teams knowing a strong finish could still see them win the league.

Short Heath Liberals look for their first win of the season as they entertain Windmill in week 11 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Jamie Holdcroft says “despite eight consecutive defeats to start the season, Short Heath head into their latest fixture determined to produce an improved performance when they welcome Windmill. The visitors will arrive full of confidence after an impressive campaign so far and will see this as an opportunity to continue their strong form against a Short Heath side still searching for their first victory. However, the home side will field one of their strongest line-ups of the season, giving them every chance of making the contest far more competitive than the league table may suggest. With the recent warm weather, the green is expected to be running quickly and consistently, conditions that should suit the home team and allow them to make the most of their local knowledge. If Short Heath can settle early and build momentum across the green, they will be hoping to keep the game tight and perhaps spring a surprise. While Windmill rightly start as favourites, Short Heath will be looking to show resilience, improve on recent performances, and give their supporters plenty to cheer about.” The other game sees Woodfield host Victoria Park, both teams looking to catch the top two teams with a good result across their two games.
