Week 14 Preview

Premier Division

The Greville Arms will look to continue their excellent form in week 14 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They won at Stretton Anglesey last week, and host the same team this week looking to make top spot for the first time this season. Captain Russ Prosser says “another big game for Greville boys tonight, we’ve worked hard to try and get ourselves back in this Summit title race and we’re in great form as a club, we just need to continue in this form.” Stretton will look to bounce back from that rare home loss as they could also get themselves back in the title race with a good result. West Brom FSC are top now and travel to a Moseley CC that is now in the relegation zone so both teams know a win could be big. Baldwin have moved out of the relegation zone for now and travel to Triplex, who after having such a great start are now in 3rd and without a win in 3, so need to bounce back with a good home win themselves. Bottom side Tanworth in Arden just beat the George last week and know they need a good result there this week to keep themselves with the pack above, while the George are still in the title race with a good home win. Willenhall Nordley host Boldmere Sports & Social looking to match Boldmere’s 9-1 win last week over them, while Boldmere with an away win will be in the title picture, although they’ve never played there in the league before.

Week 14 Fixtures:

Greville Arms v Stretton Anglesey

The George v Tanworth in Arden

Moseley CC v West Brom FSC

Triplex v Baldwin

Willenhall Nordley v Boldmere Sports & Social

Division One

Windmill will look to put one foot in the Premier Division in week 14 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They take on Woodfield and also finish their game off against them from 1st June, knowing two big home wins will give them a big cushion over 3rd place. Woodfield know that promotion has gone now and will target a strong end to a tough season. Victoria Park know a big home win over M&B Cheslyn Hay is needed to have a chance of catching the team who currently sits 6 points in front with two games in hand. A win for M&B would mean that they and Windmill will be very strong favourites to go up.

Week 14 Fixtures:

Windmill v Woodfield x2

Victoria Park v M&B Cheslyn Hay
