The Greville Arms make it three teams through to the final eight of the BCGBA World Club Championship as they got through qualifying with a fair amount of ease. First up was Bradfield, which captain Ross Dunkley described as a “a quality outfit. The first 3 was huge, they could have gone either way but we ended up with 3 winners out of it and that set the game up. Solid performance from the whole team.” Ross himself was best winner in that 38 shot win with his 7 card. In the qualifier they took on Marton Institute and it wasn’t settled until Steve Wallace’s best win of 8 but Ross said it was “much the same in the qualifier looked solid throughout” which bodes well for next week. Some of the Baddesley players played for Atherstone Cons, a late change for Newdigate, but they lost out by 14 in the 1st game to Thurgoland.
They take on Eccleston next week in the last eight, with winner taking on Dudley Dell or Ashton. George are in the other four, and have a tough task against Thongsbridge, with the winner of that game taking on Pudsey or Lower Hopton.
