Triplex whitewash, Greville go clear
Triplex whitewashed Stretton Anglesey in week 16 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Liam Lowery says “it was brilliant from us Triplex lads on and off the green! Much needed result to keep us in the title race. My lads are well up for the Boldmere fixture next and we will give it all our best. Best of luck to Stretton for rest of season.” Best winner was Steve Darling 13 with Liam himself MVP for winning 15. Darren Carter was MVP for Stretton for getting 17. The Greville Arms are two points clear at the top after defeating West Brom FSC 9-1. Skipper Russ Prosser says it was a “solid home win for the Grev men on Monday night following up on our away victory, it was needed as well with other teams getting good results too. It is still very tight at the top of the table, but probably just a 3 horse race now all to play for.” Ross Dunkley and Darren Plenderleith were best winners 7 with Steve Wallace getting MVP for winning 10. Andy Saunders was the winner for the visitors 18 to earn MVP. The George dropped points to the Greville after only beating Baldwin 7-3 and by 9 chalks. Steve Dicken was best winner 10 for them with Ryan Walters best winner 9 for Baldwin. Shannon Kernick and Phil Clinton got MVP for their game which Shannon won 19.
Tanworth in Arden nearly pulled off a great win at Willenhall Nordley with 5 winners but just dipped out by 2 chalks. Dave Wolverson was best winner and MVP for winning 11, with home captain Mark Jones exactly the same for them. Moseley CC did pick up an important home win 6-4 and by 6 chalks against Boldmere Sports & Social. James Seville was best winner and MVP 10 for them, with Ben Lynch best for Boldmere 12 and Craig Webb getting MVP for winning 18.
Greville Arms are two points clear of The George and Triplex. Tanworth in Arden are 3 behind Baldwin and another 8 adrift of Moseley CC. Elliot McGuinness is two wins ahead of James Seville, but James is top with 5 MVPs.
