Wrockwardine lose in qualifier

Wrockwardine Wood narrowly lost in the 2nd round and qualifying game by just 4 to Dearne Sports. They won their first game against Birchley St Marys, coming back from an early deficit 13 point deficit off two games. Steve Broome had a fine 19 win over Phil Lee and Liam Stevens won 9 to bring them back into the match. Dan Taylor won 19 and Martin Williams 15 to bring the gap to just 3 with Josh Cotton left on the green. He played well in the corners to win 12 and give the Wrockites a 6 shot victory.

In the 2nd round and they were 4 up off the first four after two 14 victories by Steve Broome and Liam Stevens. But in the back four despite another two winners, 13 and 19 by Stu Rutter and Martin Williams respectively, they weren’t able to hold onto their lead, losing out by 4 chalks.

Willenhall Nordley lost by 6 in their first game against Dearne Sports. Scott Simpson and Paul Evans gave them a good start by winning 11 and 14 respectively, but despite Mark Clayton winning 11 last on and Ant Bracken winning 20, they didn’t quite do enough.
