Hamstead look to hit back as top four all clash
Hamstead will look to hit back as they host Baldwin in week 10 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Craig Dugdale says “after a thrashing last week by the Baldwin it’s opened up the promotion battle and made this weeks game a really key game. We are expecting a tough game, Baldwin have bowled the green well on previous visits and have a good young side. We should be at full strength and after last weeks result I really would like at least 6 winners to try to maintain our promotion challenge.” Baldwin skipper Jim Kernick says “it was a decent home performance last week to be honest. Would have settled for the points total if it was offered beforehand. We will be attempting to go the away game at Hamstead and pick up a couple of points.” Triplex in 3rd host Bradmore in 4th, both knowing a good result will be massive in the promotion race. Victoria Park are 4 behind the pair and will be looking to take advantage of them meeting when they host Langley, who have hit some form recently. The bottom two meet as Woodfield host Belmont Services, with both teams knowing they would need an excellent run-in to have a chance of promotion.
