A quality field is assembled at the Greville Arms for their Invitation starting at 11 a.m. Paul Lamb against Scott Simpson from Willenhall Nordley looks the pick of the 1st round ties, with Ryan Prosser of the George expected to go close given his recent form in our league, playing Dan Baller of Triplex first game, then potentially Triplex’s Paul Baller second game who plays Adam Hartley of Stretton Anglesey in his first. Ryan’s dad and George team mate Russ takes on Tom Palmer, with the George’s Adam Patrick against John Dewey of Stretton Anglesey another good looking tie. Alex Jones from Shropshire could be a dark horse but has Ben Lynch from Atherstone Cons first game, with brother and team mate Mike Lynch taking on James Seville of Moseley CC. Ryan Walters from Baldwin has had some good runs in competitions this season and plays Glen Herbert, who had a good run in this year’s Alan Bentley Open. Alex Harrison of Moseley takes on Ben Ryder, Dan Davies has Jason Galvin and Dan Taylor plays Will Clarke from Tanworth to round off the top half. Steve Darling from Triplex will look to roll back the years against Paul Ward, while Callum Wraight is scheduled to play Chris Worthington. Jack Williams has done well in the league for Tanworth in Arden and has Triplex’s Dan Bowater first round, while Warwick and Worcester Merit Champion Neil Harrell plays Adam Kirby of Moseley.
