All three of our teams, who took part in the BCGBA World Club Championships, got through to finals day on Sunday 15th October at Heaton Park. Willenhall Nordley and the Greville Arms both got through at Dudley Dell. Nordley beat Copsewood by 57, best winners being Mark Hall and Mark Jones 8, and then Castlefields by 34, Scott Simpson best winner 8. On the other green the Greville Arms got past Haunchwood by 64, Josh Hale best winner 6, and Sir John Bayley by 9, Ross Dunkley best winner 7 at number 8. Stretton Anglesey qualified at Spen with two close wins. They defeated Hadfield by 11, Lewis Belcher best winner 10, and Birchley St Mary’s by just 4, Rikki Higgs best winner 11.
Well done to all three teams on qualifying.
The draw for the finals day next week sees two of our teams meet, with Willenhall Nordley meeting Stretton Anglesey, with the winner then potentially taking on the Greville Arms, who have Alvaston & Boulton first game.
