Moseley win away, West Brom win well
Moseley CC won away 9-3 in week 7 at Hamstead in the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Scott Saunders says “to be honest it was a strange game, we thought we’d win comfortably but we ended up scraping home. 3 out of the first 4 winners, a big first back four winner off then a good fightback from Hamstead. Green was immaculate and really surprised they haven’t won on there yet. We needed it after a bad result last week.” Best winner was Scott Follis 8 and MVP was James Seville 13. For the hosts it was Ben Harris best winner 8 and Joe Bown MVP for winning 14. West Brom FSC backed up their away win at the Greville Arms with a 9-1 win over Baldwin. Best winner and MVP for them was Ryan Hocknull 7, while for the visitors it was was Ryan Walters the winner 19 but Jonathan Griffin who got MVP for getting 19. The Greville bounced back from that home loss with an 8-2 win over Windmill. Carl Fielding was best winner 8, while Pete Dunkley was MVP with his 20 win. For the Mill it was Daniel Green best winner 16 and Dave Chester MVP 19. The George also won 8-2 against Willenhall Nordley. Marc Wilson was best winner and MVP 11, with Kevin Hocknull winning by the same score for Nordley and Dave Semper MVP for winning 19. Stretton Anglesey beat Atherstone Cons 7-3 with Brian Barrass best winner and MVP 4 and Jordan Baddeley the same for the opposition with his 10 win.
