Triplex Whitewash, M&B beat leaders

Triplex whitewashed Belmont Services to move top of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League in week 11. Best winner was Chris Bergin 7 with captain Chris Baker MVP for winning 8. For Belmont their MVP was their skipper Brian Jordan getting 15. M&B Cheslyn Hay closed to one point behind Victoria Park after beating them 8-2. Jack Hill was best winner 8 and Daniel Edkins MVP for winning 18. The two winners for the Park were Nigel Hodgkinson 7 and Gordon Hawkins 14, the latter being MVP. Langley had a good home win against Royal Oak 7-3. Captain Sarah Beaman says “we knew it was going to be a tough game against the Royal Oak but they were missing a couple of their regular players against us. A well fought home win for us that ran close to the end, with our lads and lasses giving that last big push to get us over the line.” Best winners for Langley were Kris Norgrove and Kaye Coulthard 11, with Kaye getting MVP. Best winner for the away side was Dane Hopwood 7 with Steve Lediard MVP for his 20 win. Penn continued their good form with a 8-2 win over neighbours Woodfield. Jacob Ash was best winner 5 and Nick Wyer MVP for his 8 win, with Rory Rollason best winner and MVP 11 for the visitors.

Triplex are 6 points ahead of Victoria Park and another two clear of M&B Cheslyn Hay. Darrell Handley, Reece Farr, Stuart Edwards and Gordon Hawkins lead the Averages on 8 wins, while Steve Darling, Pete Cookson and Rory Rollason all have 4 MVPs.
