Premier Division
The George face a trip to Moseley CC in week 15 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they look to keep their lead at the top of the table. They know a win there should keep their lead of 9 if not increase it, but Moseley CC know a win themselves should see them safe. The Greville are in second place and face a tough game against fourth placed Stretton Anglesey. Captain Callum Mitchell says “we’re hoping to use last week’s good result on Nordley to get another solid home win to keep us in and around the top couple of teams of the league. However we know it won’t be an easy task versus a very capable Stretton side.” West Brom FSC are in 3rd and will be looking for a good home win over Willenhall Nordley to set them up for next week’s big clash against the George. Nordley are in the last prize money position in 5th, but could still get 4th with a big end to the season. The bottom two meet as Hamstead host Windmill. Hamstead know they will do well to bridge the 17 point gap between them and 3rd bottom, but Windmill will think a win here would turn up the heat on Baldwin who are 8 above them. Baldwin host Atherstone Cons who are just two points ahead but with a game in hand, both teams knowing a big result is needed to keep away from the bottom two.
Fixtures:
Baldwin v Atherstone Cons
Moseley CC v The George
West Brom FSC v Willenhall Nordley
Greville Arms v Stretton Anglesey
Hamstead v Windmill
Division One
The top two meet in week 15 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. League leaders Triplex make the trip to M&B Cheslyn Hay knowing they do have a good advantage over them even if they were to lose heavily. Captain Chris Baker knows it is “a really tough game for Triplex at a venue that we don’t see very often. M&B Cheslyn Hay are an excellent side full of Staffordshire county players but I’m sure we will be very competitive and pick up a few winners hopefully.” Home skipper Steve Davis comments “we are looking forward to welcoming top of the league to Cheslyn Hay in what could be a tight game. They have been most consistent so far this season so lets see what we can do.” Third placed Victoria Park will hope to take advantage of the top two meeting as they host Langley, who will have some green knowledge. Tanworth in Arden will also look to take advantage as they host Royal Oak, who will have played the green in the Warwick and Worcester league. Woodfield take on Belmont Services with both sides looking to end the season on a high.
