2025 sees the 43rd staging of this very special one day tournament. Hawkins Sports and Social Club are the proud hosts this year and thanks goes to the Committee for the hard work that has gone on in the last few weeks to ensure the facilities are in tip top condition.
The field of 32 quality players has a fabulous mix of experience, youth and debutante’s playing in the tournament for the first time.
The top half of the draw has experienced campaigners such as Scott Simpson, Stuart Rutter, David East and Gordon Hawkins. Stuart will be looking to go one better to get his hands on the trophy having been runner-up in 2024. The top half of the draw sees debutante Peter Pete Cookson, reigning Staffordshire Merit Champion, in a first round tie with Potteries player Josh Towey. We warmly welcome Joshua Mordue and Steve Clamp into Staffordshire for the first time. We hope you enjoy your day lads.
So who makes it out of the top half to secure their place in the 2025 final?
The bottom half of the draw is equally littered with talent, with reigning champion Greg Smith, Shropshire star and arguably the game’s number one player Callum Wraight and prolific tournament players Daniel Petcher and Darren Plenderleith. Add in the highly experienced Chris Ward, Mark Picknell and Paul Evans, it is tough to call who will emerge from this half of the draw. Could Greg and Callum be set for a semi final showdown? There are 14 other quality players who will relish the opportunity to spoil the party
