Premier Division
Willenhall Nordley face a tough test in Stretton Anglesey in week 3 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Joint captain Steve Bodley says “we are expecting a tough game against Stretton who generally play our green well but we will be looking for a repeat of last year’s result (an 8-2 win).” Stretton had a good 9-1 success over Baldwin last week, led by Darren Carter winning 11 and earning MVP. For Baldwin it was Emily Kernick their winner 12 to earn her MVP. They are at home to M&B Cheslyn Hay looking to follow up their opening home win over Stretton Anglesey with another. M&B have started well with 10 points from their two games from Nordley. Windmill take on the Champions the George. Spokesman Dave Hayward says the “George are a class team, it’s important we manage to win our home games so hopefully we can avoid defeat as we haven’t managed to beat them in the last two seasons.” The George come off 1 winner last week at the Greville as they aim to consolidate this season. The Greville had a good start against the George and will aim for a good home win over Moseley CC, but Moseley also had a good start and are level on points with the Greville. West Brom FSC will be looking to improve as they take on a Triplex side looking to improve themselves on just one winner in their last away game, however this will be a more familiar green than Windmill.

Division One
Division One kicks off with our newest team Boldmere Sports & Social Club making the trip to Tanworth in Arden in week 1 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Tanworth missed out by the closest of margins last season, and will look to use that to go up this season. Boldmere though will be looking for a good start and promotion this season. Hamstead will be looking to bounce back to the Premier Division, and host a Victoria Park side who flew out the traps last season but then faded in the second half. Langley take on Woodfield with both teams looking to move up the table and be able to mount a challenge for promotion.
