Three solid home wins
There were three solid home wins in week 9 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Tanworth in Arden are now level at the top of the league after an 8-2 win over Langley. Matt Higgins was best winner 6 with Dave Clarke MVP for winning 16. Joe Wilson was best winner and MVP for the visitors 16. Boldmere Sports & Social Club are still top after three winners at Woodfield, just missing out on the aggregate by 5 chalks. Marc Franks was best winner 13 and Ben Harris MVP 16, while Joe Dicken was MVP and best winner for the hosts 7. Penn beat Victoria Park 7-3, led by Nick Wyer’s 7 win and Tim Benton’s 19 win to earn him MVP. For the Park it was captain Chris Ward best winner 11 and Pete Cookson MVP for winning 19.
Boldmere Sports & Social Club and Tanworth in Arden are level on points, with Woodfield just three points behind. Mark Williams has won 7 out of 7 and leads the Averages, while there are 4 people on 3 MVPs.
