Stretton & Moseley win big
Stretton Anglesey and Moseley CC won 9-1 in week 13 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Stretton defeated Triplex to keep ahead of Moseley in 2nd place. Spokesman Conor Chamberlain says “a good home performance saw us come away with just the one loser. Triplex can consider themselves unlucky as probably played better than any other away team thus far.” Best winner was Andy Milsom 6 with John Dewey getting MVP for winning 18. The winner for Triplex was Steve Darling 11 to earn him MVP. Moseley beat M&B Cheslyn Hay to please stand in captain James Seville. “Super home performance, against a luckless M&B side who performed a lot better than the score suggests. The green was a perfect pace for us and we took advantage with 3 good single figure cards in the first 4 (MVP Adam Kirby leading the way 21-3), then we finished it off with 4 winners at the end for a very pleasing 9-1 overall win. This was a big result to back up last weeks win at The George, so we’ll continue to push on and see where it takes us!” The winner and MVP for M&B was Aaron Tapper 10. The George will be happy with 3 winners at West Brom FSC, captain Elliot McGuinness leading the way 21-15 and Rich Dandy getting MVP for winning 17. Greg Smith was best winner and MVP for the home side 10. The Greville continued their run to the title with an 8-2 win at Windmill. Darren Round was best winner and MVP 1, while Phil Chester was best winner and MVP for the Mill 7. Willenhall Nordley beat Baldwin 8-2, Rich Bate their best winner and MVP 21-7, with Aaron King best for the visitors 10 to earn MVP.
Greville Arms are 26 ahead of Stretton Anglesey, who are three ahead of Moseley CC. M&B Cheslyn Hay and Triplex are level on 55 points at the bottom with The George one point ahead. Callum Mitchell and Danny Statham are on 12 wins each, with Danny still well ahead with 9 MVPs.
