Gameweek 2 Review – Division Two

Baddesley win big, Heath Hayes edge home

Baddesley were the big winners in Gameweek 2 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League Division Two as they beat Sutton Park 9-1. Captain Phil Brown said it was “just a normal day at the office. Food equally good at the Rose Inn, Baxterley village.” Steve Davis was best winner 6 but Michael Lynch was MVP for his 9 win. Paul Copson was only winner for the visitors 19 to earn him MVP. Wrockwardine Wood didn’t have such a close game this week as they beat Baldwin 8-2. Captain Martin Gaut led the way winning 12, with Tony Garmson getting MVP for winning 16. Lee Harvey won 13 for the away side but Shannon Kernick got MVP for her 20 win.

The closest game of the season so far was at Heath Hayes where they bet Willenhall Nordley 6-4 and by one chalk. Anton Ashford was best winner 14, while Bill Staite was MVP for his 19 success. For the visitors it was captain Bill Pitt who got MVP and best winner 21-16. Short Heath Libs will be happy with their 4 winners at Langley. Kris Johnson and Steve Powis were best winners 12, with the former getting MVP, while Mark Nemedi was best winner and MVP for the home side 21-4.
