The George qualified from the BCGBA World Club Championships comfortably. They were helped by a first round bye as Police couldn’t field a team, but didn’t let this bother them as they thrashed Wharton Cons by 72 with 7 winners in the 2nd round to qualify for finals day on Easter Sunday 17th April. Russ Prosser won 7 and Matt Price 8 to be their best winners as they comfortably beat a side containing a few Cheshire county players.
Well done to the George on their success. They have drawn Lower Hopton in the Quarter Finals, who qualified on the other green today and contain many Yorkshire county players such as Graeme Wilson and Rob Hitchen,.
